Edwin Terrence Alspaugh is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Maryland.  His practice includes adult, adolescent, family, and couples psychotherapy.  On the national level, Terrence is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). He maintains a private practice in Baltimore.

Terrence has over 25 years of experience counseling individuals, families, and couples. His training at Johns Hopkins University in clinical community counseling and play therapy equipped him to meet the needs of clients with a broad spectrum of challenges and concerns. He has counseled individuals, families, couples, and groups in community mental health, substance abuse treatment, schools, and congregations. Among his areas of expertise are: ADHD , child/parent conflicts, family therapy, couples counseling , anger management , grief and loss, depression, anxiety , social skills training, substance abuse, and parenting education.

Refugees, Immigrants, Asylum Seekers:

Terrence is honored to be one of the first mental health providers in the Intercultural Counseling Connection , a new initiative founded in 2012 with support from an Open Society Institute - Baltimore Community Fellowship Grant. The mission of the Intercultural Counseling Connection is to foster a referral network that links refugee clients in the greater Baltimore area with mental health professionals trained in providing culturally-responsive care, and to serve as a resource of professional support and growth for participating therapists.

Terrence Alspaugh uses an integrated, solution-focused therapeutic approach, drawing upon evidence-based techniques and interventions as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), to create a treatment plan tailored to the unique needs of the client. With sensitivity and compassion, Terrence helps clients to identify and build upon their strengths as they work towards life goals and problem resolution.
